I didn't find much of it funny.

Sophomoric and crude, "The Life & Times of Tim" may be a viable alternative for fans of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim.

"The Life & Times of Tim," the new, offbeat, animated series, is one that works like crazy - and no, it doesn't hurt to be crazy to love this show.

If you figure out exactly who is supposed to enjoy HBO's "The Life & Times of Tim" beyond the easily amused humans who created it - please let me know.
September 28, 2008
Wry, silly and politically incorrect in the extreme, "The Life and Times of Tim" takes HBO squarely into Adult Swim territory.

Dildarian's ultra-low-key approach hits the right notes more often than not because it's such a contrast with the insanity of the material itself. The first few installments are more hit than miss.

The animation is rudimentary and the jokes aren't much better.

"Tim" leans hard on hip understatement and winds up feeling tamped down into monotony.

I realized how great it works as a cringe comedy. It's got it all: deceptively simple setups, ulterior motives, and head-shaking denouements. But, at just 12 minutes each, the episodes wrap before they can really set teeth on edge.

The gained laughs also suggest an optimistic future for the irresistibly chic sense of give-up-ism to which the show adheres.
September 28, 2008
The show gets under the skin, somehow, with its loose Web-clip vibe and looser philosophy of life.

The jokes that do hit on "Life and Times of Tim" suggest that Dildarian might be onto something really good if given time to fix the slow spots.
